Outcare Western Australia

One of the biggest challenges facing ex-offenders upon release from prison is finding somewhere to live.
They may need time to reunite with their family or find a rental property.
Outcare helps guide them through this process and is sometimes able to offer short-term accommodation.
We also provide referrals and an advocacy service to other private rental providers and Centrelink.

Crisis care accommodation

Outcare has a range of single and shared crisis care accommodation across the Perth metropolitan area which is available to ex-offenders and their families who are participating in the re-entry program, and to other justice related cleints who are expereincing difficulties with accommodation and homelessness.

The properties are fully furnished and equipped with televisions, washing machines and microwaves.
Tenants are provided with some household items to help them settle in, including all linen, food packages and cleaning goods, and most of the utilities are paid during their stay.
Some properties also have bicycles and computers available for tenants’ use.
Because demand is very high for Outcare accommodation, places are offered on a priority basis and for a maximum of 12 weeks. Tenants are visited at least once a week by their case manager.
At the end of their stay clients are assisted to move into more permanent accommodation.
