Outcare Western Australia

Being released from prison can present many challenges to ex-offenders and their families.

Community Re-entry Link

Outcare’s Community Re-entry Link Service provides individual support for prisoners three months prior to release and for up to six months after release to help them reintegrate and make positive lifestyle choices.

They may need help to find somewhere to live or get a job. Outcare provides referrals to counselling, drug and alcohol services and health services and can help them access Centrelink payments or deal with other government agencies.

Outcare also offers practical support with general living and home skills and helps clients manage money and family issues.

This service is voluntary and referrals are taken from prisoners and their families, prison support staff, Department of Corrective Services staff and other agencies.

Welfare Support

Outcare offers a range of practical welfare support to ex-offenders from it offices at 27 Moore St, East Perth, in the morning from Monday to Friday.  This includes a general referral service to other welfare agencies.

St John of God Women's Program

Women face a unique set of challenges when they leave prison, particularly if they have children.  The St John of God Women's Program provides individual support for women who are about to be released from prison, with issues relating to accommodation, referrals, financial support, counselling and advocacy. This service has access to a limited amount of it own accommodation.
