Services for released prisoners
When someone is released from prison there are many challenges to overcome to get their lives back on track. They may need help finding accommodation, gaining employable skills or accessing training or education. They may have behavioural issues related to mental or physical illness, anger management or addictions. Some people need to reconnect with family, friends and community, while others need to distance themselves from past negative influences. Outcare works with ex-offenders to provide a diverse range of services that suit their requirements.
Our work starts within the prison system where we deliver a group education program called Life Skills, run six months prior to release. Life Skills aims to equip people with skills to overcome obstacles and difficulties once back in the community. This course helps ex-offenders to prepare for their transition to being a law abiding member of the community.
