Accommodation services

Finding accommodation when you get out of prison can be a challenge. We know how important it is to the rehabilitation process to have stable accommodation. Sometimes ex-offenders can live with family or friends and other times those options are not available or not even advisable. Outcare helps released prisoners by providing referrals to rental providers and being their advocate if necessary.

Transitional accommodation

Outcare also offers a range of shared accommodation across the Perth metropolitan area to help with the transition after release from prison. Places are offered on a priority basis and for a maximum of 12 weeks. Our caseworkers can accept accommodation requests before prisoners are released. We give priority to those participating in the Outcare Re-entry program or an equivalent process with another organisation.

Our properties are fully furnished and equipped with washing machines and full cooking facilities. Outcare also provides some household items including linen, food packages and cleaning goods. The rental fee covers all utilities. Tenants are visited at least once a week by their Outcare case manager who can also provide help to move into more permanent accommodation at the end of 12 weeks.
